The Roots

Slurps Terps Apiary is more than a honey business — it is an ecological enterprise designed to strengthen pollinator populations, build community connections to the natural world, and produce exceptional artisan products reflecting the diverse landscapes of the Waterloo Region.

The opportunity lies in bridging the gap between urban development and ecological sustainability, becoming a connective piece between policy, development, and grassroots action — and a leading local example of how small-scale agriculture and ecological restoration can work together to create healthier ecosystems and stronger connections between people and the land.

Rooted In Respect For Bees

Slurps Terps Apiary began as a backyard experiment and grew into a community-focused bee haven. We practice low-stress, chemical-free beekeeping, prioritize strong genetics, and follow strict protective-gear and inspection protocols to keep our bees — and our visitors — safe.

Rooted in Waterloo Region

Based in the Kitchener–Waterloo and North Dumfries region, Slurps Terps Apiary offers a range of services designed to connect people with pollinators in meaningful ways. From hive share subscriptions and guided beekeeping experiences to fully managed hive hosting for homeowners and businesses, each service is built around hands-on education, ecological responsibility, and high-quality honey production. With a focus on low-stress beekeeping practices, strong colony health, and transparent seasonal updates, the apiary provides both beginners and experienced participants with a safe, rewarding way to engage with the natural systems that support our food and environment.
